About the Talk|

For NTU AI Safety’s first online speaker event, we are excited to welcome Andy Wang. Andy will share his personal journey into AI safety—from conducting general computer vision research in high school to working on Chain-of-Thought monitorability, real-world misalignment incidents, and US–China AI safety dialogue.

Andy will also introduce the current state of AI safety in the United States, major research directions, and resources for people who want to enter the field. Drawing on his own experience, he will discuss how he would plan his path differently if he were starting again and why more people are needed in AI safety work.
